In the days before readily available photos and motion pictures, many salesmen carried models or miniatures of the products they sold for demonstration purposes.
This week鈥檚 What鈥檚 New Wednesday looks into a model grain cleaner for the Linde Company. Used in demonstrating grain cleaning for elevators and seed companies, the fully fuctional model comes with an electric model to run it. It is about 3 feet in length, 26 inches in height and weighs about 20 lbs, making it about a 1/6 scale model. This allowed for the salesman to show their product to the potential customer in 3D form.
