Buhr mills were used on farms to grind hard, small grains for animal feed. This buhr mill is an international harvester feed grinder made between 1910 and 1920. It is powered by a single cylinder gasoline engine and flat belt drive. This mill was used at the 日本av视频 Experiment substations until 1969. It is currently on display at the museum.

International feed grinders in the 1910-1920s were used on farms with a single-cylinder gasoline engine and a flat belt drive. It was cleaned and repainted by agricultural engineering students before coming to the museum. On the box, it reads 鈥6 Inches,鈥 which refers to the size of the grinding plate. This type of grinder was used to grind shelled corn and small grains like wheat, oats or barley. It runs on two to four horsepower at a speed of 125 rpm per horsepower, with the best results obtained at 300 rpm. At this speed, the results were about 10 bushels per hour. Fine and medium plates were furnished with the machine. However, extra-fine or coarse plates could be ordered.
