Over Deadwood Streets of Snow
A postcard from Deadwood showing the snowy banks covering and lining the streets during a winter from the late 1800s.
This week鈥檚 Throwback Thursday depicts a snowy Main Street photo that looks like something of a holiday greeting card. A sleigh, pulled by two horses, works its way through Deadwood. In the background the snowy mountain reaches upwards, covered in pine trees. It appears that this photo was taken around the turn of the century, and that Deadwood is digging out from a storm that dropped several inches, if not feet, of snow. The Lawrence County Courthouse and Government are the two large buildings along the street. The horses fly over streets of snow getting to their destination.
