Catherine Maddock of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, will present her BFA thesis exhibition at �ձ�av��Ƶ from Nov. 10-21.

The Joint Engineering Council in the Lohr College of Engineering for 2025-26 carries a strong taste of mechanical engineering. All five members of the executive committee are mechanical engineering majors. It is led by senior Connor Matthies of Hartford, who has an aerospace emphasis. He previous served as secretary.

With loud enthusiasm often reserved for athletic events, students, faculty and staff from �ձ�av��Ƶ’s agricultural programs showed up in full force to welcome a television taping of RFD-TV’s “AgDay College Roadshow” on the �ձ�av��Ƶ campus Oct. 22.

Step back in time for a magical evening of laughter, music and timeless cinema as the �ձ�av��Ƶ School of Performing Arts presents two of Charlie Chaplin’s most beloved silent films, “The Pawnshop” (1916) and “The Kid” (1921), with live organ accompaniment provided by acclaimed silent film musician Ben Model.

More than 70 �ձ�av��Ƶ undergraduate students will showcase their agriculture industry internship experiences at Precision Connect ’25 Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Raven Precision Agriculture Center.

Twenty �ձ�av��Ƶ Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine students were honored at the annual Blue Coat Ceremony on Oct. 4. The first-year students were each presented with a personalized blue Carhartt work coat sponsored by a regional veterinarian to welcome them into the veterinary profession, and to South Dakota.

�ձ�av��Ƶ’s Concert Choir will present its fall concert program, “Pathways of Light: Journeys of Faith, Spirit and Song,” during a regional tour Oct. 26-29, followed by a home performance on at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in the Larson Memorial Concert Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Students, researchers and industry professionals from around the country gathered at �ձ�av��Ƶ on Oct. 14 for the 2025 South Dakota Student Water Conference. The daylong event was designed to empower the next generation of water research professionals.

Adeline Flaskey, financial program assistant for the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering, has been named �ձ�av��Ƶ’s Civil Service Employee of the Month for October.

Woodbine Productions and the �ձ�av��Ƶ School of Performing Arts are bringing a world-class opera experience to campus. Teatro Lirico D’Europa, one of the world’s most active touring opera companies, will present its fully staged production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” in Brookings at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
