�ձ�av��Ƶ’s School of Performing Arts advisor Sam Gowen has received the 2025 Marcus Boesen Memorial Award from the South Dakota Higher Education Association.

Step back in time for a magical evening of laughter, music and timeless cinema as the �ձ�av��Ƶ School of Performing Arts presents two of Charlie Chaplin’s most beloved silent films, “The Pawnshop” (1916) and “The Kid” (1921), with live organ accompaniment provided by acclaimed silent film musician Ben Model.

�ձ�av��Ƶ’s Concert Choir will present its fall concert program, “Pathways of Light: Journeys of Faith, Spirit and Song,” during a regional tour Oct. 26-29, followed by a home performance on at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in the Larson Memorial Concert Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Through two delayed flights, rescheduling, two pieces of lost luggage, a government shutdown, and a transportation strike that halted movement across France, two �ձ�av��Ƶ students persevered to compete — and place second — in the 2025 Nantes Charrette Design Competition.

Woodbine Productions and the �ձ�av��Ƶ School of Performing Arts are bringing a world-class opera experience to campus. Teatro Lirico D’Europa, one of the world’s most active touring opera companies, will present its fully staged production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” in Brookings at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

The �ձ�av��Ƶ School of Performing Arts invites the community to a voice recital featuring junior music education major Steiger Manson in a performance of works by Handel, Haydn, Schumann, Fauré and Mozart.

�ձ�av��Ƶ junior Steiger Manson has earned national recognition for his vocal talent, winning first place in the freshman/sophomore tenor, baritone, bass category at the National Association of Teachers of Singing National Student Auditions.

�ձ�av��Ƶ Theatre and Dance will kick off its 2025-2026 season with the powerful drama “The Diary of Anne Frank.”

�ձ�av��Ƶ announces the inaugural concert of its new University Chamber Music Series, featuring acclaimed Fargo-based organist Benton Schmidt in a solo performance on the Founders Recital Hall organ.

Mezzo-soprano Emily Wood Toronto will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the �ձ�av��Ƶ campus.
