Custom Slider – Paragraph Component

Use this paragraph component to display a carousel of slides that each has its own short description and link. You can add up to nine slides.

When to use it
  • Showcase images with a short description in a carousel view.
  • Highlight featured work, programs, research, student groups, projects, publications, etc.
  • Add style.
Where to use it
  • Use outside a group only.
  • Placement in the middle or at the end of your page is ideal.
Features
  • Four slides are required for carousel view.
    • Less than four slides display as cards.
    • Maximum of nine allowed.
  • Horizontal images work best.
  • A brief description and link are required.
    • Only the first 75 characters will be displayed. Any excess will be truncated.
  • Option to add main link.
  • Arrows let users navigate through the images. Clicking the arrow triggers a smooth sliding transitions to the next slide set.
  • Dots indicate the number of slide sets (each set is three slides). A blue dot shows which slide set is currently being viewed.

How to Add – Custom Slider Paragraph Component

  1. Log into Drupal.
  2. Go to page you wish to edit.
  3. Click on + sign to enter a new paragraph component outside of a group.
  4. Choose Custom Slider paragraph.
  5. Complete the form details.
    1. Title: Required
    2. Main Link: Optional
  6. Click the caret icon to expand Slides section. You can add up to nine slides, with a minimum of four recommended.
    1. Image: Required
    2. Slide Description: Required
      1. Keep descriptions short. Only the first 75 characters will be visible.
    3. Slide Link and Link Text: Required
  7. Click Save before exiting the paragraph.
  8. Save page as In Progress or Ready to Review.
