Helping people create lasting health and lifestyle change.

The health coaching minor prepares students to help individuals achieve healthier lifestyles through evidence-based goal setting and action planning. Students develop practical skills in motivational interviewing, active listening and behavior change strategies while exploring foundational topics in health, nutrition, physical activity and behavior science. Emphasis is placed on supporting individuals to create sustainable, self-directed health changes.

This interdisciplinary minor complements many health-related majors and prepares students to work in health care, wellness, fitness or community health settings. Students also gain practical experience through hands-on learning opportunities that apply coaching skills to real-world situations.
