Nonanimal Housing Accommodations
- The student must provide documentation from a current treating health care provider.
- The request and documentation will be reviewed by the necessary parties.
- A decision will be made, and the student will be informed of that decision and the steps required to implement university housing accommodations.
The Office of Student Accessibility does not handle specific hall assignments, only the features needed for accommodations.
Examples of accommodations include first-floor or elevator access, a strobe fire alarm for students with hearing loss or permission to have a support animal live with them. An accommodation such as a service or nonservice animal does not guarantee admittance to a certain hall or the opportunity to have a single-occupancy room in the residence halls.
Important deadlines
- To get fall housing accommodations, students must complete the housing application and the accommodations process by May 1. For example, housing accommodations needed by the upcoming fall semester must be completed by May 1 to guarantee accommodation needs will be met.
- For spring housing accommodations, the deadline is Nov. 1. For example, housing accommodations needed by the upcoming spring semester must be completed by Nov. 1 to guarantee accommodation needs will be met.
If the request is made less than 60 days before moving into the residence hall, 日本av视频 cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet the individual's accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy.
The approval timeline varies based on the following factors:
- Submission date
- Available housing occupancy
- Review of submitted documentation and necessary animal verification
If the request is denied, students can reapply if they originally provided incomplete information or can appeal the decision by following the grievance process on the Office of Student Accessibility website.
