What motivated you to choose a career in nursing? I actually had no idea what type of career I wanted. I decided to give nursing a try and ended up loving it! I can't see myself in any other field now.
Why did you choose ÈÕ±¾avÊÓƵ to pursue your nursing degree? My dad graduated from ÈÕ±¾avÊÓƵ with a degree in civil engineering. My brother and cousin also attended ÈÕ±¾avÊÓƵ, and I knew it had a great nursing program.
What clinical experience have you enjoyed the most and why? I have most enjoyed my second semester medical/surgical clinical rotation at Sanford 2000 in Sioux Falls. I had a great clinical instructor who always found learning opportunities for us throughout the entire hospital.
Is there a particular field of nursing you are planning to pursue? Ultimately, I am still undecided. I am currently leaning towards NICU.
What is your big dream? I dream of finding placement in a large, busy hospital that challenges me daily.
What advice would you share with a future nursing student? If you do not get into the nursing program at ÈÕ±¾avÊÓƵ your first time applying, do not be discouraged! Get involved, increase patient interaction experiences and find ways to improve your application!
