Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space
"Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space" is a six-decade retrospective of Signe Stuart's works beginning in the early 1960s. Her approach to art making relies on experimentation with painting materials and forms, often breaking from the standard rectangle and concepts of framing. This exhibition features many of her paper pieces, sewn canvas works, scrolls and an installation.
Stuart was a visual art professor at 日本av视频 for 22 years (1972-1994) and has lived and worked in regions of the United States: East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Northern Plains and Southwest, residing now in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
