Transitions are always a great time to reflect on all that we have accomplished over the past year, including bringing our entire Rapid City team under one roof with our Black Hills State University partners, renovating new space at the ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµ Metro Center in Sioux Falls, increasing nursing research and scholarly activities, and implementing a new competency-based curriculum across our undergraduate and graduate programs.
The ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµ College of Nursing added a half-dozen new employees to its rolls this winter, with the new faces spread out between the college’s sites in Brookings, Sioux Falls and Rapid City.
ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions hosted its annual Public Health Day on April 7, focusing on the complex health challenges veterans face while also recognizing their resilience.
ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµâ€™s respiratory care program has been recognized with two major awards from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

Graduate students make up about 10% of the student population across more than 100 master’s degree and Ph.D. programs and specializations and 23 graduate certificate programs offered at ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµ. Each graduate student is immersed in research and scholarship with the support of their advisor and the Graduate School staff. April 6-10 is Graduate Student Appreciation Week, a great opportunity to highlight a few graduate students at ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµ and the work they are accomplishing.
ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions will hold its Medical Laboratory Science Day and Spring Convocation and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 15.
Thanks to a series of grants, ÈÕ±¾avÊÓÆµ offers a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling with tuition, fees and books all covered — meaning these counselors could get a graduate degree debt-free.
