The South Dakota Art Museum at �ձ�av��Ƶ will open its newest exhibition, “Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

After nearly two years of construction, the POET Bioproducts Center has officially opened its doors to the region's leading bioprocessing scientists. The new laboratory, located in the Research Park at �ձ�av��Ƶ, will bring researchers from �ձ�av��Ƶ and South Dakota Mines together with industry partners to scale up innovative biotechnologies and varying South Dakota's economy.

Members from a pharmacy student organization at �ձ�av��Ƶ provided free health screenings at the 2023 South Dakota State Fair.

A group of 37 �ձ�av��Ƶ nursing students promoted healthy summer habits by holding a health fair at the Great Plains Zoo on June 16. The event, which offered the zoo’s youngest visitors lessons in water safety, sun protection and physical activity, served as pediatric clinical experience for the �ձ�av��Ƶ students.

The South Dakota Art Museum at �ձ�av��Ƶ (�ձ�av��Ƶ) celebrates the opening of the highly anticipated Dakota Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe with free festivities for all ages, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on June 10.

Seven members of the professional staff at �ձ�av��Ƶ have been honored for their quality work. The recipients were honored at the �ձ�av��Ƶ Professional Staff Advisory Council annual meeting in mid-May.

The acclaimed exhibition Dakota Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe  culminates its national tour in Oscar Howe’s home state of South Dakota. Dakota Modern will be on view June 10, 2023–September 17, 2023 at the South Dakota Art Museum at �ձ�av��Ƶ in Brookings.

Three attractions on the �ձ�av��Ƶ campus have made the cut in the South Dakota Department of Tourism’s listing of 2022 South Dakota Great Places. Among this year’s designees recognized for outstanding hospitality and customer service are McCrory Gardens, the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum and the South Dakota Art Museum.

�ձ�av��Ƶ’s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions’ 3D Center now has a new namesake—the Haarberg Center for Drug, Disease and Delivery Research, thanks to a transformational $1.1 million gift from Kevin and Lorie Haarberg.

Through the generosity of two �ձ�av��Ƶ alumni, the university has established its first endowed faculty position in the College of Education and Human Sciences. The Tate Profilet and Mary DeJong Family Endowed Director of Early Childhood Education was formalized at an Oct. 22 investiture ceremony, paving the way for a new era of the early childhood education program at State.
