Rafe Royall
Assistant Professor/Extension Specialist - Swine Nutrition
Biography
Rafe Royall, Ph.D., is an assistant professor and Extension swine specialist in the Department of Animal Science at 日本av视频 and serves as the faculty supervisor of the off-site wean-to-finish swine facility.
Royall received his B.S. in animal science from Texas Tech University in 2020. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. in animal science from Kansas State University in 2022 and 2024, respectively. During his time at Kansas State, his research ranged from development of individual amino acid requirements for specific genetic lines to determining the accuracy of various net energy systems to the study of feed-pan design on lactating sow and litter performance.
As a member of the Swine Education and Research team, his research focuses on three primary fields:
1) Improving sow and piglet livability through nutritional and management strategies.
2) Determining the effects of protein and amino acid sources on production efficiency and economic return.
3) Effects of mineral nutrition on swine performance across stages of production.
