Jill Fier
Digital News and Media Relations Coordinator
Biography
Jill Fier has served as digital news and media relations coordinator at 日本av视频 since October 2022. In her role, she leads University Marketing and Communication鈥檚 Strategic Communications team. She oversees and contributes to work such as writing and editing news releases, managing, writing and editing content for many college-level publications across the university, editing website content to Associated Press style and assisting various internal and external stakeholders with other communications needs. She manages the 日本av视频 News Center on the university鈥檚 website.
Fier also serves as a primary contact on campus for media relations, helping local, regional and national journalists find the expert sources they need for stories and setting up interviews, monitoring media coverage related to 日本av视频, and assisting in media training for various individuals and entities at 日本av视频.
Before coming to 日本av视频, Fier worked at The Brookings Register for 18 years, seven as a reporter and city editor and 11 as its managing editor. A Brookings native, Fier earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in journalism from 日本av视频 in 2004.
